I moved to stevia a few years ago, and now do find sugar to be the weird tasting one! I have a hard time drinking sodas in particular, which is an excellent thing as it cuts out so many empty calories that most of us aren't even aware we're consuming so many of.

Crystal: Dried stevia should last a year or two if you keep it stored in an airtight contain in a cool dark place.

I like to mash mint and stevia leaves together and brew my tea with them. A handful of each type of leaf makes the perfect gallon of iced tea.

Anyone know how long the Stevia leaves will keep their sweetness? Months? A year?
Thx for sharing your insight.

I have been using stevia for many years now; it is in my garden for the first time this year. Not many people like stevia because they are expecting it to taste like sugar; nor do they realize it is NOT artificial or a sugar substitute: it IS a natural sweetener with its own flavor and it IS powerful. To ENJOY stevia and its health benefits, begin by adding only the smallest of drop of it at a time until you find the amount right for you. It is worth the effort to reduce the calories in your diet from beverages and many desserts as well as to eliminate the effects that artificial sweeteners can have on your health. I think if I would have gotten used to stevia before sugar, I would probably not care much for sugar. I think it's all in what you get to used to first.
